On the rear side of the upper vortex drifting across the North Sea to Scandinavia during Sunday, cold air aloft over relatively warm SSTs will steepen lapse rates, bringing the threat of some isolated / sporadic lightning with any heavy showers that develop, especially during the morning over Shetland before ridging develops aloft tending to increasingly cap the showers during the afternoon and reduce the lightning potential.
