Convective Outlook
Upper low to the southwest of Ireland and associated cold pool will generate steep lapse rates on Sunday - instability largely elevated above the boundary layer at first, but with warming of the surface layers to allow surface-based instability to develop by midday and into the afternoon.

UPDATE 07:04 UTC LOW extended NE across the Midlands and into NW England
Showery bursts of rain will continue to affect the S and SW as various shortwaves and old occlusion features rotate around the main surface low over southern Ireland, with sufficiently deep convection to produce occasional lightning strikes. Gusty winds and small hail will be the primary threats.
