After several active days of deep convection and showers/thunderstorms, Tuesday sees the transition to a fairly prolonged spell of more settled, quieter conditions. Remnant instability and scattered showers will still be present over the English Channel and the Northern Isles during the morning, but with convective depth becoming increasingly shallow as upper ridging develops. In general, little in the way of lightning is expected during this forecast period.
