Broad upper trough across the British Isles, but with a couple of shortwaves embedded and sliding southeastwards at times. These features bring the potential for some deep convection for a time, and hence the risk of a few isolated lightning strikes - particularly through the English Channel and perhaps southern coastal counties of England during Sunday daytime, and also into NW Ireland. The heaviest showers may produce some small hail and gusty winds. However, lightning activity looks rather unlikely after sunset given waning instability and increased ridging building from the west.
