ISSUED 21:51 UTC Thu 04 Apr 2019

Most of the British Isles will be void of any notable deep convection on Friday, however the upper vortex over the Southwestern Approaches / Bay of Biscay will continue to push a couple of shortwaves northwestwards along its eastern flank. The associated dry intrusion will encourage the release of mid-level instability, especially from midday through the afternoon / early evening hours beginning south of Devon/Cornwall and heading NW-wards towards southern Ireland. As such, some embedded lightning is possible from showery bursts of rain, with most activity generally staying offshore. Parts of southern Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly may be upgraded to SLGT if confidence improves.
