An upper vortex will tend to linger over the Celtic Sea for much of Friday, with pulses of rain and showers rotating anticlockwise around this feature. A few hundred J/kg CAPE will available, especially on Friday morning over the English Channel / Irish Sea, and so there will be an ongoing risk of a few isolated lightning strikes from heavy showers - but the risk in any one location is considered very low and most areas will remain void of lightning.
