Scattered showers affecting Shetland on Thursday morning may produce an isolated lightning strike. Thereafter, the bulk of this forecast period will be void of any lightning, but during the early hours of Friday the next Atlantic frontal system will likely contain some embedded convection in a low CAPE high shear environment, and hence isolated lightning strikes cannot be ruled out across northern Britain.
