Strong southwesterly flow aloft covers the British Isles on Wednesday, with a broad trough moving through during the day. The associated cold air aloft atop relatively warm SSTs will bring yet another day of showers across northern and western Britain, and given steep mid-level lapse rates and a few hundred J/kg CAPE, a few lightning strikes are possible - primarily western Scotland.
Elsewhere, some line convection will likely be present over SE England on Wednesday morning associated with the stalled frontal boundary, but this will gradually clear to the southeast with time.
