Scattered showers will affect northern Scotland on Wednesday morning, and will return to western Scotland and eventually western Ireland during Wednesday night. In both regimes, a few isolated lightning strikes will be possible. Elsewhere, some line convection is expected to evolve along the trailing cold front over Ireland, later spreading across the Irish Sea into western Britain. This feature is likely to be fairly shallow, and given saturated profiles and weak instability the risk of lightning is considered very low.
