A shortwave approaching the Channel Islands on Tuesday evening may aid in the development of elevated convection here, drifting northwards across the English Channel during Tuesday night. As such, scattered high-based showers are possible which given some marginal instability could produce a few lightning strikes, but are likely to weaken/decay as they approach southern England later in the night.
