Scattered showers are likely to develop in response to diurnal heating across England and Wales on Sunday, and may persist well into the evening hours as an upper trough slowly exits to the North Sea. Depth of convection is somewhat restricted, and with meagre CAPE suggests the risk of lightning is rather low in any one location (10% chance of lightning).

Overnight, an Atlantic front will bring showery outbreaks of rain into Scotland and Ireland, and could contain some embedded weak elevated convection - more especially western Scotland at the end of the night (5% chance of lightning).
