An upper trough axis will swing eastwards across the British Isles on Wednesday evening and night, the coldest air aloft generally across Ireland, Scotland and northern England. Scattered showers between the cold front and occlusion could produce a few isolated lightning strikes, more especially towards western Scotland during the afternoon hours (10-15% chance).
