In the post-frontal environment on Tuesday evening and night, an upper trough will slide southeastwards - the associated cold pool aloft atop relatively warm SSTs helping to generate numerous showers which will drift southeastwards across Ireland and into western Britain / English Channel. Gusty winds will accompany some of the showers, and there could be a few isolated lightning strikes - the risk is rather low in any one location, but perhaps SW England most favoured.
