An upper trough over the UK will slowly fill and exit to the North Sea on Sunday as ridging builds from the west. The residual cold pool atop relatively warm SSTs will continue to generate numerous showers, feeding southeastwards on the northwesterly steering wind. A few isolated lightning strikes could occur, but the risk is rather low in any one location - and reducing as the day wears on.
